Oklahoma A-G tapped for EPA

President-Elect Trump has chosen Oklahoma Attorney General Scott Pruitt to head the Environmental Protection Agency, a choice supported by the nation’s largest farm group.  American Farm Bureau President Zippy Duvall says Pruitt will provide a new degree of fairness for U.S. agriculture.

Pruitt has been one of the EPA’s most hostile critics. He has filed many lawsuits against the EPA including challenges to the controversial Waters of the U.S. (WOTUS) rule and the EPA’s carbon emission standards. But, Pruitt has also praised the agency on decisions against renewable fuels.

Pruitt has been a supporter of right to-farm movements in numerous states, including Oklahoma, and is a vocal critic of the Humane Society of the United States and that animal rights group’s fundraising and other practices.
