Nebraska makes good planting progress

Warm temperatures and scattered rainfall last week helped Nebraska make good corn and soybean planting progress.

According to the USDA, 78% of corn is planted, ahead of average, and 31% has emerged, and 37% of soybeans are planted, matching the normal pace, with 4% emerged.

46% of winter wheat is in good to excellent condition, with another 40% called fair, and 68% of pastures and rangelands are rated good to excellent.

More than 90% of the state has adequate stock water, while nearly 80% has adequate soil moisture.
