Nebraska and Kansas co-ops to merge

Farmway location at Leonardville, Kansas

Members of a Kansas farmer cooperative, Farmway Co-op, have approved a merger with York, Nebraska-based Central Valley Ag (CVA) co-op. Ninety-one percent of Farmway’s members voted for the merger.

The combined co-ops will retain the Central Valley Ag name and be headquartered in York. The organization will be led by CVA president/CEO Carl Dickinson.

The USDA ranked CVA as the 20th largest co-op in the U.S. in 2015 and Farmway as the 68th largest. Central Valley Ag lists 63 locations in Iowa, Nebraska and Kansas. Farmway has 37 locations in northcentral Kansas.

The merger becomes official on September 1st.
