NCC Cooperative and Ceres propose merger

The boards of directors for both Indiana-based North Central Co-op and Ceres Solutions have unanimously agreed to propose a merger between the two cooperatives.  A release from both companies says the recommendation comes after nearly 12 months of research.

NCC CEO Mark Tullis says the consideration to merge both companies comes as many organizations are seeking to gain strengths to better serve farmer-members.

Ceres Solutions board chairman Del Unger says the vote is significant and will direct the operations of the farmer-owned business in the future.

The proposal now goes to the voting members. Sharing with the cooperative principles, all members are invited to vote or if unable to do so in person can give their proxy vote to their local board.

The vote will be held December 6-8 for Ceres Solutions and December 13 for NCC.
