National 4-H Week inspiring current & future members

It’s National 4-H Week and the president of the National 4-H Council says it’s a chance to celebrate the impact the 4-H program has on local communities.

Jennifer Sirangelo says they’re asking alumni to share how the organization changed their lives.  “What they all share is those life skills that they gained from 4-H and they know 4-H is still empowering young people with those life skills today,” she says.

She tells Brownfield the organization wants to use its national outreach initiative – 4-H Grown – to inspire current and future members.  “Were you grown in 4-H,” she asks.  “Whether you showed an animal or took part in a 4-H robotics program, or you did public speaking or were the president of your local 4-H club – we would love to hear from you about how you grew from being a part of 4-H.”

Sirangelo says 4-H alumna can share their stories online via the National 4-H Council’s website or by using the #4HGrown.
