Monsanto has rejected the latest takeover offer by Bayer as “financially inadequate.” The offer was for $65 billion dollars.

Bayer announced last week it increased its bid for Monsanto to $125 a share from $122.

In a statement, Monsanto said it remains open to more conversations with Bayer as well as other companies to assess if a transaction would be in the best interest of Monsanto shareowners.
