Moms group says GMO label bill discriminatory

Moms Across AmericaThe head of the group ‘Moms Across America’ says the GMO labeling law passed by congress discriminates against people in rural America and others who do not have access to Wifi and/or unlimited mobile phone plans. Zen Honeycutt tells Brownfield that because the legislation would allow food makers to use QR codes or 800-numbers in place of putting “GMO” on food labels – many people will NOT get that information. She says that is a major health concern, “They’re not only hiding GMOs, they are hiding the related toxins that go along with GMOs which are factually found to be neurotoxins, endocrine disrupters and carcinogens.”

Honeycutt says the legislation destroys states’ rights, among its other key flaws, “It also is not mandatory. It’s a lie. There’s no federal or state penalties for not following this law. None at all. So, it’s not mandatory.”

Honeycutt says if President Obama signs the law – the Democratic party will lose her members’ votes and, further, members will boycott any food that does not have GMO labeled clearly on its packaging. She tells Brownfield only organic foods should be trusted.
