Missouri corn and soybean planting move forward

Corn planting reached 93 percent completion as of Sunday in Missouri. The state’s USDA ag statistics office says that’s a few percentage points behind last year but slightly ahead of the national average.

Corn emergence made a big jump from last week’s 60-percent to nearly 80-percent emerged as of Sunday.

Soybean planting progressed to more than 40 percent, a big jump from a week ago.  Twenty percent of soybeans have emerged.

Rice planting is close to the finish line at 92 percent. Sorghum planting is nearly one-third completed.

Winter wheat condition is more than 60-percent good to excellent.
