Michigan Senate Ag Committee tackles Right to Farm

The Michigan Senate Ag Committee chair says one of their first issues of the year will clarify Right to Farm concerns.

Senator Joe Hune of Hamburg tells Brownfield Right to Farm issues in urban areas have been percolating for a while.  “Folks who are doing some agricultural ventures in a more urban and densely populated areas—we introduced some bills last term, myself and Senator Warren, to bring some protection to folks that are doing some ventures in the urban setting in the agricultural arena.”

He says bovine TB challenges are also festering and need to be monitored and potentially addressed with new legislation.

Other members on the committee include Senator Mike Green, Wayne Schmidt, Darwin Booher and Virgil Smith.
