Michigan prices increase for dry beans and milk

June prices paid to Michigan farmers were higher for milk and dry beans, but lower for corn, soybeans and wheat.

The state’s milk price was $15.80 per hundredweight, up $2.10 from last year.

Dry bean prices in June averaged $31.00 per hundredweight, up $1.00 from 2016.

The USDA Monthly Price report says the average price received for corn was unchanged from May, but dropped 37 cents from last year to $3.58 per bushel.

Michigan soybean farmers were paid an average of $9.43 per bushel, $1.07 below last year.

And USDA says the June 2017 price for wheat averaged $4.28 per bushel, 68 cents below the same period a year ago.
