Michigan Farmers Market Association celebrating

This is National Farmers Market week and Michigan is celebrating its growing number of markets, now at around 300.

Dru Montri is the director of the Michigan Farmers Market Association. She tells Brownfield Ag News, “A couple of the ways that we are celebrating through the Michigan Farmers Market Association is by visiting farmers markets across the state. We have a couple of Facebook Live farmers market tours which are focusing on food assistance benefits this week. All of that information is available on our website.”

She says more than half of the farmers markets in Michigan can now accept “Bridge” cards from SNAP recipients.
