Major Ag Economic Study on Missouri Agriculture

A major economic study on Missouri Agriculture has been released at the Missouri Governor’s Ag Conference.

“We’ve been looking for a tool to explain to folks who aren’t directly involved in agriculture how important it is to our state in a sense we’re able now to quantify the economic contributions of this important industry.”

That’s Dan Cassidy, chief administrative officer with Missouri Farm Bureau. The study shows that the Value added impact of Missouri agriculture is $33-Billion-dollars.  More than 375-Thousand jobs are tied to Missouri agriculture and tax revenues are more than six-Billion-dollars a year.

The study also breaks down the economic impact of Missouri agriculture, county-by-county.

The Iowa firm that conducted the economic study has done similar ones for Iowa and Illinois agriculture.
