Iowa farmer says his crops look good

Southeast Iowa farmer Kurt Hora is waiting for the soil to dry out so he can finish up the 2017 planting season.

Hora tells Brownfield he has 50 acres of corn and about 20 percent of his soybeans left to plant. He says what’s up and growing looks great so far.

“The crop came up really good. We’ve got great stands on everything that is out there right now,” Hora says. “So we feel pretty fortunate about it and pretty comfortable with where we’re sitting right now.

“I think next week there will be a lot of the sidedress nitrogen starting to go on. We just need a little bit of heat to keep this corn going and get some weeds sprayed out there.”

Hora farms near Washington, Iowa.
