Indiana farmer’s crops have ‘above-average’ potential

Southeast Indiana farmer Dave Gottbrath says he’s been lucky this year when it comes to weather.

“We’re right in a place where haven’t gotten too much rain,” Gottbrath says. “Salem, which is real close to me, got flooded back in the spring and we had some earlier that went over some fields. But right now, we’re getting timely rains and our crops look relatively good in my area.”

Right now, Gottbrath says, he would rate his crop’s yield potential as “above-average”.

Gottbrath farms near Pekin, Indiana.
