Indiana corn planting nearly complete

Dry conditions last week in Indiana helped farmers make up for some lost time in the fields. Producers in parts of the state though are waiting for rain to return.

98% of corn is planted and 86% has emerged, with 44% of the crop called good to excellent and another 36% rated fair.

90% of soybeans are planted and 68% have emerged, with 51% in good to excellent condition.

9% of winter wheat is harvested, with 65% in good to excellent shape.

Most of the state has adequate soil moisture and 66% of pastures and rangelands are rated good to excellent.
