First Michigan food and ag trade mission to China
The Michigan Director of Agriculture says groundwork has been laid to increase exports to China.
Jamie Clover Adams tells Brownfield her recent trade mission to China was an opportunity to introduce Michigan food and agribusiness to buyers in the Chinese market. “Being here this week really drove home for me how important it is that we trade in this world. Michigan agriculture, we produce much more than we need and we need these trade relationships.”
Clover Adams says the group included representatives of Michigan’s brewing, fruit and specialty food industry.
Last year Michigan food and ag exports to China were a record $71 million.
