DuPont/Dow behind on EU merger info
The proposed merger of Dow and Dupont has been delayed again. It’s being widely reported that the companies have not provided needed information to European antitrust regulators so the clock, for now, has stopped. Extensions are reported to be common in the EU regulatory process and company officials say they don’t expect a major delay. The EU began an in-depth look into the proposed merger last month, over competition concerns.
Dow and DuPont reportedly say the deal could become final in early 2017. A hearing on the merger is scheduled September 20th before the U.S. Senate Judiciary committee.
