Donnelly named Friend of Farm Bureau

When working on agriculture legislation Indiana Senator Joe Donnelly says he tries to channel members of the farm community.

Donnelly tells Brownfield farmers from around the state of Indiana are ahead of the curve – especially on conservation issues.

“Here’s farmers that are north, south, west and east in Indiana that get it and are stewards of the land,” he says.  “One of the most important things we can do if we want to reduce carbon in our atmosphere or if we want to make our water cleaner is help empower our farmers to do the things they do really, really well.  To get out of their way and provide them with the tools necessary to do this.”

Indiana Farm Bureau presented Senator Donnelly with the “Friend of Farm Bureau” award.  Recipients are nominated by their state Farm Bureau organizations based on their support of priority agriculture issues.
