Dicamba problems not severe in Wisconsin

Missouri and Arkansas took action Friday to stop the use and sale of Dicamba herbicide because of numerous chemical drift damage complaints, but Wisconsin says they don’t have a Dicamba problem.

Donna Gilson with Wisconsin’s Ag Department says no such ban on Dicamba is being considered in the Badger State at this time.  She says, “We just have not seen the kinds of drift problems that result in terrible neighborhood disputes like they have had down there, and we really haven’t had any abnormal complaints about this or any other kind of drift this year.”

Gilson tells Brownfield all chemical drift complaints get investigated, but their investigators have been working mostly on routine inspections.

There have been a large number of Dicamba drift damage complaints in Arkansas and Missouri.  There are also complaints filed in other states including Iowa, Nebraska, and Kansas.
