Culvers says more changes to sourcing are coming

2016 PDPW Business ConferenceA founder of a major restaurant franchise says more change is coming to meet the needs of the health conscious consumer.

Craig Culver, Co-Founder of Culver Franchising Systems, tells Brownfield consumers demand options and his restaurant chain is changing to meet those demands.  “Antibiotic-free—we currently buy all of our chicken antibiotic-free and I know it’s coming in the other proteins as well.”  Culvers was one of the first major restaurant chains that began advertising chicken raised without antibiotic in 2011.  “As a CEO or a leader of a company, it’s your job to be a dreamer, to be a visionary, and think what can you do with your company to move your company forward faster than many of your competitors.”

Culver says its relationship with farming communities has strengthened in recent years with its ‘Thank You Farmers’ campaign.  “We’re also promoting the ag industry at the same time and saying thank you to the farmers that work as hard as they do to produce the great products that they do.”

Culver spoke with Brownfield during the recent Professional Dairy Producers of Wisconsin Business Conference in Madison, Wisconsin.
