CRP emergency haying in SD, ND, MT

Approval has been given to allow emergency haying on CRP lands in drought affected areas of North and South Dakota and Montana. The USDA Farm Service Agency says Ag Secretary Perdue has authorized emergency haying beginning July 16th because the drought is rapidly getting worse and hurting forage. The U.S. Cattlemen’s Association says it made the request Monday and it was granted immediately.

Emergency grazing on CRP lands in those drought affected areas was approved in late June and runs through September 30th unless conditions improve.
