Cover crop survey underway

The Conservation Technology Information Center is conducting a nationwide survey on cover crop usage.

Farmers have from now until May 31 to take the short online survey about whether they plant cover crops or not. The results will be used to help guide policy, research and education.

The 2016 survey found farmers doubled cover crop acreage from five years ago to almost 340 acres per farm. Participants said cover crop usage increased corn yields by almost two percent and soybean yields by almost three percent.
