Corn, soybean export inspections stay on pace

The USDA reports corn, soybean, and wheat export inspections for the week ending August 10th stayed on pace to meet projections for their respective marketing years. The 2016/17 marketing year for beans, corn, and sorghum runs through the end of August and the 2017/18 marketing year for wheat started June 1st.

Wheat came out at 511,528 tons, down 124,459 from the week ending August 3rd and 187,468 lower than the week ending August 11, 2016. For the 2017/18 marketing year to date, wheat inspections are 6,172,952 tons, compared to 5,501,563 in 2016/17.

Corn was reported at 756,935 tons, 222,071 less than the previous week and 415,827 under this time last year. With less than a month left in the 2016/17 marketing year, corn inspections are 54,558,862 tons, compared to 42,872,666 late in 2015/16.

Soybeans were pegged at 570,012 tons, a decline of 116,758 from the week before and 207,110 below a year ago. Nearing the end of this marketing year, soybean inspections are 55,646,044 tons, compared to 48,605,520 towards the terminus of the last marketing year.

Sorghum inspections totaled 69,625 tons. That’s a decrease of 36,326 tons on the week and 51,615 on the year. 2016/17 sorghum inspections are 5,703,473 tons, compared to 8,492,320 in 2015/16.
