Conservation Legacy Award seeking nominees

Ron Moore, vice president, American Soybean Association, chaired the ASA policy session in New Orleans, Mar. 5, 2016.

The American Soybean Association (ASA) is asking farmers to share their conservation stories for a chance at prizes and national recognition.

ASA vice president Ron Moore of Illinois says the Conservation Legacy Awards highlight the activities leading farmers are doing to preserve natural resources.

“Doing all those things that are making soybean production sustainable in the United States.  We have three regional winners, and then we pick one national winner.  It’s an opportunity for us to showcase great stewardship by our farmers.”

Farmers have until September 2nd to submit an application.

“Farmers can fill out (an application) themselves or colleagues in the area can fill it out and submit their name.  But it’s an extensive application.”

The Conservation Legacy Award winners will receive an expense paid trip to next year’s Commodity Classic in San Antonio, and be featured in a national publication.
