CHS reports strong first half

The CEO of the nation’s largest cooperative says a prudent strategy has resulted in a strong first half of fiscal year 2017.

Minnesota-based CHS reported a seven percent increase in revenue during a six month period ending February 28th, totaling $15.4 billion dollars.

CEO Carl Casale calls the operating environment challenging, but says the company has taken appropriate and measured actions to position themselves to take advantage of opportunities while focusing on a return on invested capital.

CHS saw net incomes rise to $14.6 million in the second quarter of 2017, compared to a net loss of $31 million during the same period a year ago.

Casale says the cooperative is on a journey, and CHS is starting to see the benefits of their focus.
