CHS acquires bulk liquid transport business

CHS has acquired a bulk liquid transport business that serves markets across the Upper Midwest.

The nation’s largest cooperative announced this week it has purchased Western Co-op Transport Association, which delivers to Minnesota, Iowa, Wisconsin and the Dakotas.

CHS VP of transportation and distribution Patrick Hessini says this acquisition strengthens their position in core markets and allows CHS to expand transportation and logistics services to create additional value for their owners and customers.

Western Co-op is headquartered in Montevideo, Minnesota, and specializes in the transportation of petroleum, propane, ethanol, and liquid crop nutrients.

Hessini says dispatch and routing operations will move to the CHS dispatch office in Rosemount, with the Montevideo facility remaining in operation as a CHS-owned fleet service center.
