ChemChina-Syngenta deal clears US review

ChemChina’s planned 43-billion-dollar takeover of Syngenta has cleared a big hurdle.  The deal has received clearance from the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States.

In addition to this clearance, the transaction’s closing is subject to anti-trust review by numerous regulators around the world.  According to a release from Syngenta, both companies are working closely with the regulatory agencies involved.

The proposed transaction is expected to be completed by the end of 2016.
