Cargill builds feed plant in Michigan

Cargill has broken ground on a new animal feed plant in Mid-Michigan.

Spokeswoman Kari Soderberg says the facility in Owosso is centrally located to better serve Michigan’s growing dairy populations and one of the top 10 dairy producing markets in the U.S.

The $19 million-dollar, 75,000-square-foot facility is expected to be completed in December of next year and will produce about 125,000 tons of feed annually.

The Minnesota-based company announced plans at the end of November to build a second feed-related facility in Tennessee.
