Beck’s partners with Indiana State for UAV training

Beck’s is collaborating with Indiana State University to train pilots to operate Unmanned Aerial Vehicles under the new FAA regulations.  Part 107 of the Federal Aviation Regulation for non-hobbyist small unmanned aircraft systems went into effect last August.

Through the partnership, Beck’s will have 50 pilots FAA certified to assist customers with scouting their crops throughout the growing season.

Beck’s light robotics manager Jim Love says they’re committed to using ag innovations to help farmers better manage their crop and the partnership will help ensure employees are operating UAVs and trained at the highest level.

Indiana State University offers a Bachelor of Science degree in unmanned systems and is one of only a few UAV operator programs in the US.
