Iowa corn planting reaches 88 percent
Wet and cold conditions last week across much of Iowa slowed planting progress, but the overall pace of planting continues to run ahead of normal.
As of Sunday, 88 percent of the corn crop was planted, four days ahead of the five-year average. Fifty-one percent of the crop had emerged.
Forty-three percent of the soybean acreage was planted, two days ahead of normal.
Hay conditions rated 73 percent good to excellent and pasture conditions rated 71 percent good to excellent.
