DuPont Pioneer has new soybean seed treatment in the works
It’s called Lumisena and according to Mark Reisinger, DuPont Pioneer senior marketing manager for U.S. soybean seed treatments, “it’s a step-change difference in the way we address phytophthora in the field”.
“It’s a molecule developed by DuPont, a new mode-of-action,” Reisinger says. “It allows us to get after phythophthora in a different way and it will be the basis for Pioneer Premium Seed Treatment into the foreseeable future.
“Lumisena is still working through its regulatory pathway with EPA and we hope to have it on the market by 2018. In 2017, we’ll be out with large-scale demonstration plots.”
We visited with Reisinger in mid-September at the Husker Harvest Days farm show in Nebraska.
