Credenz LibertyLink technology helps overcome resistance issues in Missouri

This was not a usual growing season.  Bayer agronomist Marshall Beatty tells Brownfield it differed from last year’s much-too-wet planting season.  Soybeans were planted on time, versus last year when so many were planted late or not at all.  The rain came later in the growing season and made for very good yields.  Beatty says Bayer Credenz 3841 LibertyLink soybeans averaged 65 bushels to the acre, while 3601 LibertyLink soybeans averaged 66 bushels to the acre.

“Growers were very pleased with their yields,” Beatty told Brownfield Ag News.  “I think they beat expectations.”

Herbicide resistance is a growing problem among soybean growers, said Beatty.

“I think the fields that struggled with weeds and resistant weeds may have taken a bit of a hit,” he said, “but fields that were managed and had the right herbicide program, we were very pleased with our yields.”
