Why the fight over the word “milk”?

U.S. dairy farmers want the term milk only used for the dairy product and not for soy, almond, rice and other plant based drinks. They say it is misleading to consumers to call those plant drinks “milk” Chris Galen with the National Milk Producers Federation says consumers might think they are getting all the naturally occurring nutrients that milk provides in those plant-based drinks but they are not.
