Slow growing chickens

Some food companies and restaurants have recently mandated that their chicken suppliers only source slow growing chickens as a way to improve the birds’ welfare.

Tom Super with the National Chicken Council says doing so would have a tremendous impact on the environment and cost of chicken, but most importantly, more research is still needed about any benefits to animal welfare.
