What does the new “clean food” movement mean?
Kevin Folta, horticulture science chairman at the University of Florida, says clean eating is essentially meaningless – and is really a marketing ploy.
Folta says the idea that clean eating is better is unfair and super offensive. Folta says clean eating is used by restaurants and food companies as a way of falsely elevating their food as better because it doesn’t contain GMO ingredients or food additives, for example.
