De-stress with ‘dark’ chocolate
A study funded by Swiss Cocoa and Chocolate Foundation and the Swiss National Science Foundation found compounds in DARK chocolate led to reductions in stress hormones in those who ate it. The study found the chocolate eaten two hours before a stress test reduced certain stress hormones. Dark chocolate is rich with flavonoids – a class of polyphenols. There are fewer such compounds in milk chocolate.
