Cyndi Young


Cyndi YoungCyndi Young grew up on the family farm near Winchester, Illinois. She is Farm Director/Manager for Brownfield, and partner with her husband, Jim Puyear, in Rocking P Ranch near Jamestown, Missouri. After completing her studies in Agriculture Education and animal science at Western Illinois University, Cyndi accepted a position at WJIL Radio, Jacksonville, Illinois. During her farm broadcast tenure, Cyndi worked for Oklahoma Agrinet and was Farm Director for WTAX/WVAX, Springfield- Lincoln, Illinois.

Cyndi joined Brownfield as Regional Farm Director in 1997, and in October of 2001, was promoted to Farm Director. She has climbed the Great Wall of China, swam in the Dead Sea, visited Red Square, walked over Roman ruins where chariot tracks could be seen, and spent a day taking in the sights and sounds of a Labor strike from the windows of an Argentine hotel room with a group of Midwestern farmers. She has traveled to 15 foreign countries covering agriculture for farmer listeners. A member of the National Association of Farm Broadcasters for 19 years, Cyndi was recognized as Farm Broadcaster of the Year for the nation in 1997, and currently serves as Vice President for the NAFB Foundation.
