Rider tells Brownfield’s Dave Russell the overriding message he heard over the 2 days was the need for a comprehensive renewable energy policy.

The time is now to advance renewable energy

NFU President – “Get the policy right”

Roger Johnson, President of the National Farmers Union is hopeful Congress passes energy/climate policy that provides income opportunities for farmers. But the NFU President isn’t sure Congress is listening, which is also why he’s encouraging farmers and ranchers to get more involved in the discussion.

EPA official addresses RFS-2 and E15

Filling in for EPA Administrator Lisa Jackson who was in the Gulf Coast area, Gina McCarthy, Assistant Administrator for the Office of Air and Radiation at EPA began her remarks saying the Renewable Fuel Standard-2 was on the right path, but the Assistant Administrator said more innovation is needed in cellulosic, in order to meet the RFS-2 requirement. From there, McCarthy talked about E15, the timeline she told those attending the 25x’25 National Summit is hopefully have the first definitive signal on E15 by the end of September, and then by November she says the decision could be expanded.
