Poultry Assn. honors Ohio Soybean Council

For their contributions to Ohio’s egg, chicken and turkey sectors, the Ohio Poultry Association (OPA) presented their 2013 Industry Partner Award to the Ohio Soybean Council (OSC).

“I was honored to accept this award on behalf of my fellow members of the Ohio Soybean Council Board of Trustees and all Ohio soybean farmers,” said John Motter, OSC chairman and Hancock County soybean farmer. “We understand the importance of egg, chicken and turkey production in Ohio to soybean farmers and Ohio’s economy and look forward to continuing our work with OPA.”

Poultry is the Ohio soybean farmers’ number one customer, consuming more soybean meal annually than any other animal agriculture sector. In Ohio, poultry and egg production accounts for 44 percent of soybean meal usage.
