Illinois Scholarships


  • 1st Farm Credit Services – 1st Farm Credit Services has a commitment to agricultural and rural youth, demonstrated not only through our support of the FFA and 4-H programs at the state and local levels, but also through our two scholarship programs.
  • Agricultural Communications Scholarships- A limited number of scholarships are available for continuing students enrolled in the agricultural communications curriculum. These are provided by alumni and friends of the program in the agricultural communications industry and are awarded on the basis of academic achievement and financial need.
  • GROWMARK Essay Contest-The 2008 GROWMARK Essay contest, themed “Understanding Cooperatives”, is sponsored by the GROWMARK System and FS member cooperatives, along with FFA leaders to help students develop writing skills, learn about current issues impacting agriculture, and the role of cooperatives.
  • Horsemen’s Council of Illinois – Provides an annual scholarship to students.
  • Illinois 4-H- Please contact your county 4-H about information on scholarships opportunities through the 4-H.
  • Illinois Agriculture Education- To provide college scholarships to children who major in agriculture, agribusiness, or an ag-related course of study.  These scholarships are awarded on the basis of exceptional scholastic ability and/or financial need. The program’s purpose is to help assure a well-qualified and professional agricultural workforce in Illinois.

  • Illinois Beef Association- IBA will award four $600 scholarships to four youth—two boys & two girls.
  • Illinois Conservation Foundation- Provides annual scholarship to students who demonstrated protecting and support natural resources.
  • Illinois Excellence in Agriculture Scholarship Program- Over the past several years, the Illinois State Treasurer’s Office has awarded $60,000 in Excellence in Agriculture Scholarships. These students wished to pursue a challenging career in Agriculture, whether it is traditional crop and livestock production, agri-business, agriculture research or alternative agriculture.
  • Illinois Farm Bureau- Offering students a variety of scholarships for pursuing a degree in agriculture.
  • Illinois FFA- Lists multiple grant and scholarship opportunities for Illinois FFA members.
  • Illinois Pork Producers- The IPPA supports today’s youth through two scholarships helping youth pursue a career in agriculture. Deadline for the scholarships are April 1, 2009.
  • Illinois State University- Students interested in the College of Applied Science & Technology should take a look at scholarships that might be available to them. The College, along with its departments and schools, offers a wide variety of scholarships.
  • Lake Land College Foundation- Must be enrolled in 12 hours per semester at Lake Land College.
  • Midwest Equipment Dealers Association Foundation- The scholarship applies to select one and two-year diploma and associate degree programs offered in training programs related to the sales and servicing of agricultural equipment offered at any of the community/technical colleges within the Wisconsin Technical College System and Illinois Community College System.
  • Northern Illinois University- The university offers a variety of scholarship and grant opportunities to help finance student’s college educations.
  • Southern Illinois University- Southern Illinois University Carbondale offers scholarships to outstanding students who demonstrate potential for superior academic performance.
  • University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign- The Office of Student Financial Aid (OSFA) provides students with scholarship and financial aid answers to help pay for their college education.
  • University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign College of Agricultural Consumer and Environmental Sciences -A number of scholarships for undergraduate students enrolled in the College of ACES are made available through the generous support of alumni and friends of the College. Approximately $1,000,000 in merit-based awards were awarded in the 2005-06 academic year in the College.
  • University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign Private Donors- The Office of Student Financial Aid (OSFA) provides this limited list of private scholarship resources as a service to students.
  • Western Illinois University - The WIU Foundation Scholars Program is the premier entity of the WIU Foundation Scholarship Program. Scholarships valued at $1,000 – full cost for four years are awarded to an elite group of students who have attained the highest level of academic achievement in their high school or community college careers.
