Ag economist warns against weakening safety net

Dr. Daryll Ray with the Agricultural Policy Analysis Center at the University of Tennessee fears the next farm bill is going to severely weaken the safety net for crop producers.  Ray thinks the heavy reliance on crop/revenue insurance could be a recipe for disaster.  He says it will fail to provide an adequate safety net when farmers need it the most.

We visited with Ray at the recent Nebraska Farmers Union annual meeting in Grand Island.
