Jerry Passer is a graduate of Brown Institute of Broadcasting. Following a stint in the Navy, he began a broadcast career that has spanned 49 years. Passer worked at radio stations in Blue Earth, Albert Lea and Austin Minnesota, Cedar Rapids and Oelwein, Iowa and spent nearly 20 years as Farm Director for WMT in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He has traveled extensively, including trips to North Africa, Belgium and Mexico with Agriculture Secretary John Block.
Passer has received many awards from farm organizations over the years and is an Honorary Iowa Master Pork Producer. He has served on many agribusiness committees and served as a Regional Vice President in the National Association of Farm Broadcasting.
Passer has a daughter, son and four grandchildren and likes to spend his vacation time with the grandchildren at his daughter’s acreage near Amarillo, Texas. Passer joined The Brownfield Team in November of 2002 as a cash livestock reporter.
