Keith Alverson, Cab Conversations Keith is a sixth-generation farmer near Chester, South Dakota. He farms with family: his wife, Kari, children Kenney, Connor and Caiden, parents and an aunt and uncle. They ridge-till, growing predominantly corn and some soybeans, with about 20 percent of the farm irrigated. They’ve been long-time users of precision technology and continue to add technology to the farm. Alverson started farming 12 years ago, after graduating from South Dakota State University. He served three years on the South Dakota Corn Utilization Council, including two years as vice president. Currently, he is in his fourth year on the South Dakota Corn Growers Association board, where he serves as vice president. He served one year as secretary/treasurer. Alverson is also active on the National Corn Growers Association, serving three years on its Ethanol Committee, including one year as chairman. Two years ago he was elected to serve on the NCGA Corn Board.
