$25-million in Conservation Innovation Grants available

The USDA’s Natural Resources Conservation Service is accepting proposals for groundbreaking projects to provide new conservation opportunities.

Through its Conservation Innovation Grants, the NRCS will invest up to 25-million-dollars for projects that spark development and adoption of innovative conservation technologies.  The grants are funded under the Environmental Quality Incentives Program and include several focus areas for 2017.

They consist of: innovative approaches to benefit historically underserved and veteran farmers; natural resources data analytic stools; precision conservation tools; conservation finance approaches; demonstration, evaluation, and quantification of the impact of water management and soil health practices; and pay-for success models that stimulate conservation adoption.

Proposals are due January 9 – a link to more information can be found HERE.
