Wheat, soybean inspections up on the week and year

The USDA reports wheat and soybeans export inspections are higher for the week ending June 16th, corn and sorghum are lower, and all are up on the year.

Wheat came out at 571,724 tons, up 164,019 from the week ending June 9th and 230,929 higher than the week ending June 18th, 2015. Early in the 2016/17 marketing year, wheat inspections are 1,192,879 tons, compared to 879,046 towards the outset of 2015/16.

Corn was reported at 1,235,070 tons, down 472,797 from the previous week and 119,236 higher than this time last year. With less than a quarter left in the 2015/16 marketing year, corn inspections are 32,424,863 tons.

Soybeans were pegged at 314,990 tons, 165,724 more than the prior week, and up 136,869 from a year ago. So far this marketing year, soybean inspections are 43,981,919 tons, compared to 47,589,903 last year.

Sorghum inspections totaled 13,402 tons, that’s down 181,624 tons on the week and up 12,422 on the year. 2015/16 sorghum inspections are 7,367,800 tons, compared to 7,426,839 in 2014/15.
