A slight increase in maple syrup production

MapleSyrupRangeIndiana’s maple syrup production totaled 12,000 gallons for 2016, a slight increase from last year.  Weather issues limited the season and it lasted just 24 days, making it the shortest in the country.

Indiana ranked 12th in maple syrup production this year.  The 60,000 taps averaged .20 gallons per tap.

National maple syrup production totaled 4.21 million gallons, up 23 percent from 2016.
