A slight increase in maple syrup production

Indiana’s maple syrup production totaled 12,000 gallons for 2016, a slight increase from last year.  Weather issues limited the season and it lasted just 24 days, making it the shortest in the country.

Indiana ranked 12^th in maple syrup production this year.  The 60,000 taps averaged .20 gallons per tap.

National maple syrup production totaled 4.21 million gallons, up 23 percent from 2016.
