Milk futures lower, cash cheese higher

In Class III trade at the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, milk futures were lower. July was down $.14 at $15.25, August was $.38 lower at $16.37, September was down $.47 at $16.39, and October was $.41 lower at $16.30.

Over in the spot market, cash cheese was higher. Blocks were up $.08 at $1.66 with two loads sold, including one at the closing price. The last bid unfilled was on one load at $1.665. Barrels were five cents higher at $1.71 with twelve loads sold, all at that price. The last bid unfilled was on one load, also at $1.71. The last offer uncovered was for one load at $1.72.

Butter was up $.02 at $2.35. The last bid unfilled was on one load at that price.

Nonfat dry milk was down $.01 at $.87 with one load sold. The last bid unfilled was on one load at $.86.
