Missouri soils are drying out

Dry weather this past week in Missouri allowed planting and haying to progress. Topsoil moisture is 46 percent adequate to surplus. The Missouri corn crop is 66 percent good to excellent. Soybean planting is 92 percent complete, compared to 48 percent last year and 80 percent for the 5-year average. The crop is 57 percent good to excellent. Sorghum planting is 94 percent complete. Winter wheat cutting is about half done and the crop is 64 percent good to excellent. Missouri pastures are 50 percent good to excellent.
