USDA expects strong use for renewable fuels

The USDA’s expecting strong renewable fuel use in the upcoming marketing year.

Corn for ethanol demand is projected at 5.3 billion bushels, which would be up 50 million from the current marketing year, and soybean oil for biodiesel is seen at 5.8 billion pounds, 300 million more than what’s expected this marketing year.

The new marketing year for corn starts September 1st and the new marketing year for soybean oil begins October 1st.
