Participants in first leg of the 2016 Hard Red Winter Wheat Tour predict an average yield of 47 bushels per acre from wheat fields in northern Kansas.

That’s the highest Day 1 estimate since 2012 and is 13 bushels better than last year’s Day 1 estimate. The yield estimates from more than 300 stops ranged from 21 to 93 bushels per acre.

The tour continues today from Colby to Wichita.
